Creative Writing across the Content Area Workshop ($450)

This course will provide teachers with 30 CPDus, 3 PLUs, 2 Lane Credits, or 30 CEUs depending on where you live and which you prefer.

This is a workshop for teachers who wish to study patterns and form.  What are some of the universal forms, patterns or outlines used to define the creative writing process?  How can this information be used to encourage writing in the classroom and amongst creative individuals?  We will discuss and study fiction, poetry songwriting/lyrics, art and text, and science fiction.  Teachers/education professionals will come to understand how students can participate in the creative process while studying a variety of subjects.  Teachers/education professionals will complete two writing assignments and they will be encouraged to include this information in their classroom curriculum.  This is a five day, online workshop.  Teachers in the state of Illinois and the state of Georgia receive state approved credit.  Please enroll by completing the registration form (See the "DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION FORM" link above).  This workshop is for teachers teaching grade levels K-12.

Introduction/overview
Children’s Books
Looking at rhetorical response in Children's Literature,
teachers will complete a short writing assignment.


Day 2 (4pm-10pm Central Time)
Poetry and Music

Day 3 (4pm-10pm Central Time)
Film and Literature

Day 4 (4pm-10pm Central Time)
Science Fiction/Mythology/Fantasy and Film
Looking at key elements in science fiction,
teachers will complete a short writing assignment.


Day 5 (4pm-10pm Central Time)
Visual Imagery
Collage, Visual Arguments, Artist books
 

Writing across the Content Area Workshop ($250)

Writing across the Content Area Workshop is for the study of essay writing.  Teachers of Literature, Science, Art, Social Studies and more will see how essay writing can be universally applied to enhance student development.  Teachers will complete two writing assignments.  After this workshop, teachers will want to add essay writing to the curriculum.  This is a two day, online workshop.  Teachers in the state of Illinois and the state of Georgia receive state approved credit.  Please enroll by completing the registration form (See the "DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION FORM" link above).  This workshop is for teachers teaching grade levels K-12.
